Since I was a child I watched a lot of movies and TV shows. I LOVED the actors and the characters they played.
Many of them were my idols as I was growing up. Their lessons and presence helped me through hard times and gave me motivation. However, now it seems that EVERYTHING is about politics.
The same actors who were my idols go out of their way to make videos about voting, or why someone is a bad politician. They even get praised for spreading political propaganda using their fame acquired by acting. And some of them even see themselves as the pinnacle of our society!
But one actor has the most honest stance about his profession and his colleagues. At a roundtable discussion with other actors, Denzel Washington told his acting colleagues to get off their high horses.
“…people say: ‘Oh, the difficulty of making a movie.’ I’m like, listen, send your son to Iraq–that’s difficult. It’s just a movie. It’s like, relax. I don’t play that precious nonsense.
Making a movie is a luxury,” he stressed. “It’s an opportunity, and most importantly, it’s a gift. Obviously, everybody here is talented enough to do that, but don’t get it twisted. It’s just a movie. It ain’t that big a deal.”
Finally, some truth from the media.
