To live a highly spiritual existence is not as complicated as you might think. It’s not that weird either.
Being spiritual means to work on your spirit and become spiritually aware. It means that you grow as a person and follow your own journey towards the truth.
You can do each of the following things for a few minutes per day to get more and more spiritual.
1. Wake up early and meditate.
If you want to get the best of your day, wake up thirty minutes earlier than your usual waking up time. Dedicate these minutes to meditate.
Meditation helps you gain clarity and focus. When you begin your day by decluttering your mind of unwanted thoughts, you direct your focus to things that need your immediate attention.
Meditation is giving your mind rest before taking action. You’re like a runner who prepares yourself before getting on the track; you are highly focused on how to win the race even before it takes place.
Whether you are preparing your meals, driving for work or sending the kids to school, be completely there. Staying in the present moment is creating the habit of mindfulness.
When you are mindful, you do not cling to anything. You deal only with things that life provides you in the present moment.
Be amazed by the wonders of life by spending time with nature. Maybe there’s a park or garden near your place.
A 10 to 15 minutes brisk walk will do wonders for your system and your spirit. As you walk, contemplate how green are the trees, how fragrant are some flowers or how blue is the sky.
Or on weekends, you can go to the beach and recharge your spirit as you walk barefooted and listen to the calming splashes of the waves. The effect will benefit you for a whole week.
Be grateful for everything you have in life: your family, your house, your clothing. When you count your blessings, you are opening your doors for more blessings to come.
Be grateful even for the challenges you have in life. Because challenges help you grow, make you strong and foster your growth.
No matter how you plan your life to be, certain things get in your way that is least expected. But once you are open to every possibility, taking some changes would not be so hard.
Just keep in mind that things happen for a reason. Every person or situation which comes unexpectedly in your way carries a gift that is helpful to you in the long run.
An open mind will also open your eyes to wonderful possibilities that you never once thought possible.
Your intuition is the gut feeling that prevents you from doing or urges you into doing certain things with the absence of valid reasoning. It’s a gift you are born with but unable to use as you become more logical.
Start paying more attention to your gut feeling because it will help you with your inner work. It also takes you to the path you were meant to trod.
Learning should not stop once you earn your degree. As the world gradually allows us to become more connected, the opportunity for learning has widened.
You can choose to learn other languages, cultures or other skills. Learning is also a great tool in your spiritual evolution.
Once you expand your learning, you also expand your world as well as your spirit.
