Adults can communicate about their feelings and how stress is affecting their lives. Kids, on the other hand, are not able to recognize and find the words to express what they are feeling. They are alone with their stress.

Even though as an adult your child’s problems might seem ridiculous compared to yours, for the child is the most important problem they have. It stresses them as much as your most important problem.

If they remain in constant fear and nervousness, children might develop anxiety disorders and other mental issues. It’s helpful to know how to help your child on time, to learn the techniques that can manage their stress.

4 Ways How to Manage Stress Children:

1. Don’t overburden your child.

Children are often overwhelmed with a load of work in school and at home. Parents should discuss with teachers to devise a way that will lessen the homework. Allow your children to have time for themselves, to be children, to act silly and to do the activities they like.

All the activities such as sports, studies, homework and the lessons you teach them are important for the future of your child. However, the playing, the games and the silliness are important for the present of your child, so don’t underestimate them.

Make a schedule that will not tire your children. Every child is different. If one can do a task in 10 minutes doesn’t mean every child can. It will only burden them and it can cause frustration. Moderation in everything is required.

2. Indulge exercise as a daily routine.

One of the reasons of increasing the level of stress in children is spending most of the time indoors. Lack of physical exercise can cause the mind to play games on you, making you feel depressed and without energy.

At least one hour of exercise daily is important for your children. It will help with their physical and mental development. Combine their play with physical activities, like bicycle riding, playing football or basketball.

You can also take your child hiking to connect them with Nature and the bigger spirit we are all part of. Hiking has great positive influences on your mind, spirit, heart and it’s a great exercise for your body. It is never a bad choice to spend some time among Nature.

3. Talk and listen.

You may not know what your child is going through in their life. They may have gone under a traumatic experience that has induced fear, and they are too scared or ashamed to let you know. That’s why it’s important to talk.

Talk to them, but do not force them to tell you everything. It’s best to be an example. Teach them to be open by you yourself being open. Share something you are afraid of, something you are ashamed of, let them see the power of openness and vulnerability through you.

Ask them about their feelings and views about life. Inspire them to share their emotions with you and show them that you are unconditionally nonjudgmental when it comes to them. Do this regularly to know what is going on in their life. More concerned parents can see how to track a cellphone to keep account of their children.

4. Ensure right amount and quality sleep.

Having a good night’s sleep boosts your immune system. Brain activity is enhanced. Some scientists even say that a good and quality sleep is healthier than exercise and healthy diet combined.

For kids, good sleep is essential. It improves the physical and mental health and development of children. The brain inactivity is reduced, and learning ability is increased. The whole body regenerates in quality sleep.

Enough amount of sleep reduces the rate of depression, suicidal thoughts, and self harm. Children between the age of 6 and 12 should get around 9 to 12 hours of sleep, and 8 to 10 hours of sleep is recommended for teenagers.
