Andy Whittle is one of the coaches we found and we did a little interview with him. He impressed us with his positive attitude and strong support that he offers his clients. Here is what he said.
Name: Andy Whittle
Pillar: The Mind
Who is this coach for: For anyone who wants to have strong support and valuable feedback on their way of reaching their goals.
How they can help: Attentive listening, strategic questioning, dedicated support and outside feedback.
We are all fine, and coping fairly well with the situation, it does feel as though we have lost a complete year and I know my children have missed the social aspect of being with all of their friends, but they have managed to stay connected and it will soon be back to ‘normal’.
It did affect me initially especially with a lot of the training work I did face to face.
But I am nothing if I am not adaptable so I was soon up and running as people adapted themselves to the online world and became more comfortable with the technology.
It has changed the type of coaching I do, in that people are struggling with adapting, more stress, career challenges, new ways of working etc.
That connection and support networks are ultra important.
I learned that people, including myself, are stronger than they think, more adaptable than they think and can rise to any challenge with the right mindset.
I have been many things to many people in my lifetime.
Lots of hats, lots of very interesting experiences and the red thread through all of this has always been people.
I got into proper coaching roughly 5 years ago when I found the perfect curriculum for me that really spoke to my strengths and understanding of the way things and people worked.
Realizing that life is too short to be in the wrong job.
I was a fish out of water in my old job and I realized that I had to create yet another comfort zone.
I had to stop blaming others for my lack of choices and start making changes, taking chances and being more proactive.
I think that I innovate with my clients by really listening to them and by becoming a thinking partner for them.
Helping them reflect on their thoughts, ideas, values and strengths to really be able to move forward with confidence in knowing who they are and what they want.
Most people are after some sort of change, a new life, a new job, a new perspective on things.
Having reinvented myself many times over the years I have a pretty unique perspective on life.
Anything is possible.
Encouragement, support, a bouncing board, valuable feedback, someone who listens, the chance to have an outsider’s perspective with no judgement or preconceived ideas.
I do have many tools in my toolbox, but the most powerful are listening and questioning.
We are all worthy, we all deserve to be heard, seen, listened to, loved and acknowledged.
We all have a special place in this world.
No one else can make you happy, complete you or should judge you.
You do You.
Everyone else is taken.
Coaching is the gift that keeps on giving.
We all learn so much about ourselves through self reflection and genuine intuitive feedback.
Our self perception can be so muddled and our limiting beliefs can be so limiting. Having more options in life can be so rewarding.
