Justin Koster is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with him. He impressed us with his unique approach to coaching he calls the B.O.S.S.M.O.D.E. Justin has always been passionate about helping others to develop in their best versions. He is helping people gain clarity about their life and achieve deep mental presence in everything they do. This has enormous implications in every aspect of their lives. Here is what he said.
Name: Justin Koster
Pillar: The Mind
Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to gain clarity about their path in life and be more mentally. present.
How they can help: By using a unique method he calls the B.O.S.S.M.O.D.E.
We are all doing well! We have been pretty lucky with our health and besides a little cabin fever we have been able to keep things pretty normal.
I think the biggest effect that it has had on a majority of people is the rising stress and burnout that people are feeling.
Everyone had a little extra time to sit and think about what they are doing each day.
When they find answers that they don’t like inside it makes them uncomfortable and they need somewhere to put that nervous energy so it doesn’t distract them from their work or their family.
Those answers can be hard to deal with and we are seeing a lot of that come out in the form of The Great Resignation.
They want to find better answers by making changes, by finding work that aligns with who they are or whom they want to be.
There isn’t enough kindness in the world.
When you put someone in the corner they will do anything to keep themselves or loved ones safe. While in reality coming together could save so many more.
Kindness and understanding should be the minimum that we do for each other.
I started coaching late last year as in the title, but I have been in a leadership position in the service industry for just over a decade.
I always had a passion for people development and it eventually served as an appetizer for coaching.
I developed displeasure for the rushed training, the panicked puzzling of how to fill the schedule, and the turn and burn nature of the service industry.
I started to ask why? And what if we gave a little more than what they needed to just be effective at work and how to help build more for the people we were hiring.
It leads to some pretty powerfully impacting outcomes! So I continued to find more ways to help develop the people around me and that led to me finding the world of coaching.
I would say that it was one of those questions where I couldn’t find an answer.
I didn’t know what I wanted out of life.
I just knew that I needed to support my family and I would do anything to do that.
I slaved away in some of the places that I worked for. Sometimes up to eighty hours a week.
It was draining and empty a lot of the time, but I still would force myself through those motions to keep my family safe, fed, and with whatever extra we could make out of it.
I try to always stay curious while in conversations with my clients. Where are their answers coming from? What other knowledge do they have hiding under the surface? How can I be more effective for them?
The thing I like about my coaching style is how easy it can be to make huge changes in your life by layering on the smallest little shifts.
We make things sound simple so that we can get the ball rolling and before you know it we can break through all those pesky limiting beliefs.
I call my style B.o.s.s.m.o.d.e and that’s an acronym for Best, Optimized, Self, Sequence, Mindful, Observations, Decisions, and Execute.
We go through the steps to bring out what you want out of life and how to be able to make the choices needed to get their while taking the action to do it.
The simple answer is Clarity.
Clarity of what their best self looks like and a path to achieving it. The longer we work together the deeper it goes. We cultivate amazing presence of mind so that you can show up with your loved ones in a powerfully authentic way.
I’ve been using it on myself so that I can continue to improve my life and work balance.
I use my B.o.s.s.m.o.d.e methodology to create a plan during our discovery session. From there it depends on their challenges or goals that we set.
To quote my favorite band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
“Show Love with no remorse”
That it is easier to make life meaningful by being present and mindful about what you are doing with your time.
Thank you for this opportunity to tell so many wonderful people about myself and my coaching journey.
My only hope is that reading this article I spark some form of idea or impact in your readers’ lives, or their coaches!
