First of all, how are you and your family doing in these Pandemic times?
We are doing well.
How does the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?
The fear, stress and uncertainty affected my clients. Yes, it affected me as well.
I focus on managing my stress through self care which includes meditation, prayer and positive affirmations.
What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?
Focusing on health and spending time with family became more important.
Live in the present because tomorrow is not promised.
The Origin:
Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?
For many years I was employed as a social worker however my circumstances changed during the pandemic and I found myself suddenly unemployed.
I had attended coaching school several years ago and I became certified in health coaching and life coaching.
My situation turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it led me to make changes in my career and pursue my coaching business. Coaching has been a dream to me for many years now.
What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?
I have had many obstacles to overcome in my life including health challenges with migraines and chronic pain.
After having several minor car accidents, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
Learning to cope with chronic pain for many years has helped me to have a better understanding of other people and their circumstances.
Overcoming my shyness and my fear of public speaking were obstacles in my life.
While studying coaching I learned a lot about myself during the process.
As students we went through the process of coaching and being coached. During this process I was able to push myself outside of my comfort zone and become a better version of myself.
At my church I was able to give my testimony in front of a large group of people. Once I was up there to speak, I focused on the speech that I had prepared and I was no longer nervous.
The words came from my heart and my faith got me through it.
It was an amazing feeling!
The Coaching Style:
How do you innovate with coaching your clients?
One of the things that I do is deep breathing exercises to reduce stress and help them to relax.
What’s unique about your coaching approach?
I hold space for each client, meeting the person where they are and being curious but not judgmental in my approach.
I believe that my clients have unlimited potential and although they might know what they want to achieve, they don’t know how to accomplish their goals.
Through my coaching I provide encouragement, support, accountability and a system which helps them to unlock their potential, increase their confidence and achieve their goals.
What benefits do your clients get after working with you?
My clients have been able to improve their mood, have a more positive attitude, improve self esteem, increase their energy, make positive changes in their lifestyle to include healthy eating and exercise, and improve their relationships.
Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?
I use a variety of coaching tools in my coaching practice such as The Wheel of Life.
The Impact:
If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?
Be kind to each other.
Reach out to other people and make healthy connections.
You can make a big difference in someone’s life by being kind, doing a good deed or just listening to them. You never know what another person has faced on their life’s journey.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?
Helping others is what I truly love to do the most. Whether that means doing a small deed to help a neighbor or volunteering in my community.
Your final thoughts?
“Gratitude opens the door to…. the power, the wisdom, the creativity of the universe. You open the door through gratitude.” — Deepak Chopra
