Laura Weiner Kiser is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her focus and clarity.
Speaking to her you get a sense that she truly understands the deepest layers of our mind.
Starting as a personal trainer she wanted to help people get fit. But she knew that there is something deeper that’s at the core of why most people struggle to reach their goals.
Later she discovered coaching and ever since then embarked on a journey to help people rewire their minds for success and fulfillment. Here is what she said.
Name: Laura Weiner Kiser
Pillar: The Mind
Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to break free from their mental barriers by rewiring their mind to take empowered action.
How they can help: Guidance that’s uniquely customised to each individual, deep listening, mental rewiring and meditation.
Like most, we’ve had our ups and downs and some big scares, but fortunately everyone is safe.
Life doesn’t necessarily look the same, but we’ve adapted and are grateful for the health of our loved ones .
A lot of clients have struggled finding balance, whether that be socially, with their work, or just in their own mind.
We had a decent amount of certainty about how our life would likely go and the pandemic rocked that.
A lot of clients’ anxiety and self doubt spiked and we’ve had to create practices so their life vision isn’t too narrow.
It did affect me, I invested more in my work and my learning.
At times I think it was my escape, but it also brought me joy.
I noticed some of my childhood programming tried to take over, concerning what is right and wrong versus what’s right for me.
Mostly the pandemic challenged me to grow.
I’m deeply grateful I was coaching during this time however, because I deeply believe my coaching set me free in the pandemic versus keeping me mentally trapped.
Inside problems require an inside solution.
So often I’d hear “if I lose 10lbs then I’d be happy” or “if I get a promotion then I’ll feel successful”, but when people get “there” they don’t receive the feeling they’re searching for.
Because those examples are outside solutions to an inside problem (lack of happiness, lack of success).
We waste soooo much time working to get somewhere not realizing what we want is the feeling, we’ve just attached a specific modality to receive it.
Creating a reality where we have to earn good feelings.
I started as a personal trainer.
I had several broken bones growing up and was overweight as a child.
I wanted to help people.
As my time in my career moved along I noticed different needs of my clients.
So, I got my nutrition specialist certification and this is when I was first exposed to coaching, but it wasn’t labeled “coaching”.
I started my own version of nutrition coaching along with personal training.
From that moment on I knew there was something else, but I didn’t know what it was.
I looked into being a nutritionist or functional medicine doctor, but they didn’t feel right.
Then I found coaching and it kind of feels more like coaching found me.
I’ve noticed just how impactful I can be helping people at the source, their mind.
Not people pleasing.
All my life I lived under the idea that if I make others happy then I’ll be happy, although it was unconscious it was still my code.
I had witnessed evidence to not support the narrative, but I was petrified that if I was just me then the people who loved me wouldn’t love me anymore.
Learning to love myself and honor my needs before caring for others has really balanced me out and created more happiness than I understood I could experience.
I view every client as their own rubix cube.
What works for some doesn’t work for all so it’s my job to listen and hear what’s not being said and feel their energy.
I read a lot and listen to a lot of podcasts and experts share different data about human behavior.
My brain is always swarming with this information because it is what I love, so my innovation largely is specific to the client and what guidance would help them thrive.
Honestly, me.
It took me a while to learn I’m an empath and my intuition is unique, and for me that means I can feel my clients energy and connect dots from previous sessions to help them notice patterns within themselves.
The fact that I’m still working on myself and growing in my space creates a space of compassion and understanding that helps my clients feel safe and in turn help them dare greatly in their life.
Very much depends on their goals.
I’ve helped people lose 40lbs, I’ve helped people connect to their inner spirit, I’ve helped people feel empowered to be brave, I’ve helped a lot of people find self acceptance, and more.
Based on the reviews I’ve received I’d say the overarching theme is I help people breakfree of their mental cage by rewiring their mind to take empowered action correlated with their desired life experience.
Listening to our own thoughts and asking questions is impactful, but writing things down or journaling if you will can change the game.
Meditation of a focus practice is also key to move forward more rapidly.
You have control to create the life experience YOU want.
Not by looking to control others or change our outside world, but rather by recognizing how uncontrolled you are in your mind.
All negative emotions are self created by the degree of resistance you have to your reality… when you accept what is, you set yourself free.
Doesn’t mean you have to like it, you just acknowledge it’s true and find the purpose for you… then keep moving with a focus inward.
Life isn’t about happiness, it’s about growth and experience.
When I can honor all my experience, even the stuff I don’t like, I have power over my life and see purpose within everyday.
Our desire for certainty shines a light on our insecurity.
We aren’t supposed to know the future or have it all figured out.
We seek it because we don’t have faith in ourselves and it’s a protective shield.
Get to know who YOU really are and differentiate between what you believe and what culture believes.
Your emotions are there to guide you to your greater life experience, but you have to be able to trust in yourself and have faith to find your greatness.
