Omu Obilor is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her experience.
She joined the John Maxwell team in 2011 and became a founding member. She became a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, Dr. Amen Certified Brain Health Coach, Nueroencoding specialist and an NLP practioner. Along the line she joined Business Network International (BNI) where she serves as an Executive Director and National Trainer. This has given her the opportunity to network in over 70 countries.
She is helping people find clarity and build unshakeable self confidence so they can tackle their BIG goals in life. But like all of us, she didn’t start from there.
She had a problem with overcoming the Imposter Syndrom herself. Here is what she said.
Name: Omu Obilor
Pillar: The Spirit, The Mind
Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to find clarity and build greater self confidence to tackle their goals in life.
How they can help: By using an expansive toolbox and techniques like gratitude, celebrating yourself, and smiling.
We are doing very well I must say it could have been worse.
Thankfully in Nigeria the cases are minimal and restrictions are minimal as well.
A lot of my clients suffered various types of mental health issues.
The good thing was the world was online so we could actually have sessions and stay connected.
As for me I had some really bad days and had to use all techniques I knew to stay sane.
On ther other hand I was challenged workwise to do more so, my business actually grew.
Live your best life.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Spread love.
I started out with a hunger for personal development.
I had read several of John Maxwell books and praticed what I read.
In 2011 he formed the John Maxwell team to train coaches, speakers and trainers.
I immediately signed up and I am a founding member.
I started out like a sponge and just soaked myself in it.
I trained and coached informally.
It took me a few years to actually start to tell people I was a coach.
2 years later I joined Business Network International (BNI) simply to network and soon found myself initially as the education coordinator and now an Executive Director and National Trainer.
That helped expose me to over 70 countries.
Along the line I added a few other certifications to arm me with more tools in my toolbox.
I went on to certify as an Emotional Intelligence Coach, Dr Amen Certified Brain Health Coach, Nueroencoding and NLP.
The biggest obstacle as simple as it may sound is Imposter Syndrome, negative self talk and fear of failure.
The coaching itself is innovative because it is customized to each individual.
My coaching approach focuses on the whole person.
I believe that one needs to be wholesome.
I do not believe in a one size fits all approach.
I have studied different techniques to help acheive the best results.
I ensure you go further faster towards achieving success, whatever success means to you.
They first and foremost have clarity.
They have improved self confidence and are able to take bold steps to achieve their goals.
I have an expansive toolbox, it depends on several factors, like the persons communication style, disposition and all.
There are a few things I teach every client to do and that’s gratitude, celebrating yourself (you can pat yourself on the back) and smiling.
Show Love, Love, Love and Be grateful!!!!!!!
I believe everyone should have a gratitude journal.
No one can love you more than you love yourself.
We are responsible for our lives.
It’s just one life, let’s take care of it.
