Romeo EL Chaer is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with him. He impressed us with his experience and expertise.
He is a resilient soul born in Lebanon in 1973, just as the country was engulfed in the chaos of civil war. At the tender age of three, he faced a personal tragedy, losing an eye, setting the stage for a life marked by adversity. Navigating through poverty, bullying, and rejection, he fought for basic security and the chance to live an ordinary life. Against all odds, he persevered, transforming his struggles into a testament to the power of resilience and the possibility of transformation.
His approach involves addressing the elements at their lowest level and allowing clients to choose which areas to address first. This tailored strategy aims to provide clients with the tools needed to bolster their resilience, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges.
He has a unique approach. His unique coaching approach goes beyond words, emphasizing understanding unspoken nuances and offering a fresh perspective rooted in a genuine belief in his clients’ untapped potential. Here is what he said.
Name: Romeo EL Chaer
Pillar: The Mind
Who is this coach for: For individuals and businesses that need clarity or a change in perspective.
How they can help: Through various technieques and tools like Wheel of Life, Wheel of Resilience, and active listening just to name a few.
We are doing great, thanks to God.
We survived it like so many others and we are grateful to God.
I wasn’t actively practicing coaching during the pandemic, but some of my existing clients underwent significant shifts in their habits, profoundly affecting their lives due to the pandemic induced isolation, both individually and as partners.
Communication dwindled, priorities shifted, and stress and anxiety took a toll on relationships, leaving a void without a reliable anchor.
It’s agonizing to witness; even now, many individuals remain confined behind their walls, even if the physical barriers have subsided.
Certainly, the pandemic coincided with a significant life transition for me as I moved from Lebanon to start a new chapter in Maine, USA.
Surprisingly, it facilitated our integration into the American culture, providing me with valuable time to study and obtain certifications.
Engaging in numerous volunteer activities within my new community prevented any sense of isolation.
I actively participated in two NGOs dedicated to assisting refugees, joined the church choir, and became a Sir Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
In the midst of these engagements, I prioritized the safety of myself, my family, and others by diligently following all safety regulations.
The pandemic has taught me the significance of social connections, emphasizing that individualism is not conducive to a healthy life.
Living in a community and cherishing the bonds within it is truly valuable.
Additionally, the importance of family life has become even more apparent, showcasing its immense value and precious nature.
I will try to make a long story short as I can.
I was born in Lebanon in 1973, just before the rise of a civil war that tore Lebanon.
In the heart of adversity, I emerged, facing not only the chaos of the Lebanese Civil War but also the personal tragedy of losing an eye at the tender age of three.
I navigated the minefields of poverty, bullying, and rejection, craving love and acceptance that seemed elusive.
While my peers elsewhere dared to dream, I fought for basic security and the chance to live an ordinary life.
The fight for a second chance became a necessity, a beacon amid the storm of adversities.
Yet, against all odds, I persevered.
Through the lens of resilience, determination, and unyielding faith, I seized my second chance.
Today, I am a living testament to the power of resilience and the possibility of transformation, and make my second chance a reality!
My journey wasn’t easy, but it was transformative by all means.
The keys to overcoming the inferno of my past were faith, determination, persistence, and resilience.
I share this story not to dwell on the struggles but to illuminate the undeniable truth, we all deserve a second chance.
As I look at my fulfilled bucket list, a loving marriage, two wonderful sons, and the realization of dreams in the States after 14 years of struggle and waiting to move from Lebanon to the States, I want all to know that second chances are real and reachable.
It’s a reminder that, armed with faith, determination, persistence, and resilience, you can overcome the storms in your life and create your own heaven.
I stand here, vulnerable, and real, to let everybody know that I’ve felt the depths of despair, much like some of you might be feeling now.
But I promise you this: you will find the strength to grow wings, the courage to charge your shield, and the belief that you can work miracles in your life.
Why?
Because you deserve that second chance.
We have the wisdom within and the power to change our lives for the better.
And I say out loud, “Believe in yourself, for you are deserving of that second chance”
The moment I landed in the USA, I enrolled in a highly respected institute.
I worked diligently and earned certifications as a Life Coach and Health Coach.
My goal is to assist people in recognizing their resilient spirit and guiding them on how to strengthen and empower it.
Currently, I’m developing training programs to empower staff with resilience.
This enables them to tackle challenges both at work and in their personal lives.
I believe these aspects are closely connected, influencing each other significantly.
In this way, my efforts extend beyond individual support.
I contribute to the success of organizations and the well being of individuals’ families, helping them navigate life’s difficulties.
We all deserve a second chance to live and thrive!
The most significant challenge that shaped who I am today was the loss of my eye and how people treated me as a result.
Overcoming this wasn’t easy, but it was far from impossible.
Enduring bullying, rejection, and judgment took a toll on my self esteem.
However, with unwavering faith, I found recognition and acceptance in the eyes of God, especially through the support of my mom and my family during dark moments.
The war added another layer of complexity.
Living in a constantly uncertain world where anything could happen without notice was a daily reality.
In Lebanon, I often joked that you don’t just lose your job, you lose the entire company due to the pervasive uncertainty.
Lastly, grappling with poverty was another formidable challenge.
In a family of eight, with five sons, during a war that attracted many young men into militias, the stress and hardships were palpable.
Yet, through resilience and the support of loved ones, I navigated these challenges and emerged stronger.
In the end, I express my gratitude and thanks to God for all that He has given me.
When it comes to innovating in coaching with my clients, I begin by prioritizing active listening and gaining a deep understanding of where they currently stand in their personal journey.
We collaboratively assess their resilience elements, focusing on enhancing those that require attention.
Two key criteria guide this process: firstly, addressing the elements at their lowest level, and secondly, allowing the client’s choice in deciding which areas to address first.
The ultimate aim is to provide them with the tools needed to bolster their resilience.
While following the coaching plan, I maintain an open channel for clients to express worries or urgent concerns that may arise.
Once these immediate matters are appropriately addressed, we seamlessly transition back to the coaching plan, working towards the predefined goals.
I particularly enjoy working with clients to broaden their perspectives, enabling them to realize the potential for change.
Many individuals find themselves confined behind metaphorical walls, and my approach involves expanding their knowledge and awareness.
This shift allows them to see beyond these barriers, revealing the path forward.
As their awareness grows, they gain the ability to move forward on their journey.
I specialize in listening beyond the words and understanding the unspoken nuances.
I genuinely care about my clients, firmly believing in their untapped potential and power.
My approach emphasizes offering a fresh perspective because I recognize that people desire not just to be heard but truly understood.
My passion and patience are dedicated to helping them find their path.
Coming from a background where thinking outside the box was a necessity for survival, I bring a unique perspective shaped by navigating a harsh and unpredictable world.
The ability to see things differently is not just a skill but a learned expertise from real life experiences.
Having traveled extensively and worked with diverse cultures, I’ve gained profound insights into people and their backgrounds.
I don’t just provide a coaching system; I share life experiences that have enhanced my understanding of clients, guiding them to view situations from various perspectives.
In my coaching practice, I utilize the Wheel of Life to assess various life categories such as social relationships, personal life, spirituality, career, and family.
Additionally, I employ the Wheel of Resilience to gauge my clients’ levels across resilience elements like optimism, flexibility, adaptability, self control, and emotional awareness.
Complementing these tools, active listening is integral as I journey with my clients to help them discover their path and potential.
However, the most potent tool in my arsenal is my unwavering belief in my clients’ power and ability to effect positive change.
Let’s not judge a book by its cover.
Within each of us lies superhuman potential, the power to effect change.
To unlock this potential, we must first embrace change and believe in the profound impact of second chances.
You have the ability to transform your life, just believe in the potent force of a second chance, for yourself, your loved ones, and the world.
Remember, seeking help is an act of courage, affirming your will and determination to change.
The most profound lesson I’ve learned is that faith is the key to life.
Without it, I risk losing hope and belief in the inherent goodness of humankind.
Prioritizing God first, others second, and myself last has been a guiding principle that has brought depth and meaning to my journey.
We are all beckoned by a supreme calling, a higher purpose meant for us to become beacons for others.
Life, with its myriad challenges, may cast obstacles our way, but by holding unwavering belief in ourselves and drawing upon the resilience within, we can work wonders, effect transformative change, and evolve into the individuals we are destined to be.
It all begins with a belief in the possibility of a second chance, a chance we all truly deserve.
