Johanna (Jo) Kovrig is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her vast skillset and positivity.
She started her quest of undrstanding the deepest secrets of The Universe from a very young age. From her early teens, Johanna’s quest for deeper meaning led her through a myriad of spiritual practices, beginning with the Sylva method and extending through Reiki and Theta healing. Her life is rich with experiences across continents, where she immersed herself in education, both as a teacher and a learner, nurturing young minds in ‘Waldorf Steiner’ kindergartens and mastering holistic spiritual disciplines.
She shifted towards a more spiritual path in 2016 when she encountered her spiritual teacher. This epiphany eventually brought her back to her homeland, where she felt a compelling urge to share the wisdom and insights she had gathered over the years. With a formal coaching qualification from Mindvalley, Johanna launched her holistic life coaching practice, dedicated to helping individuals heal, grow, and evolve.
She tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client, embodying a continuous journey of personal and professional evolution. Johanna’s coaching style is an innovative blend of trauma informed approaches and spiritual healing, drawing from various methodologies. Her clients frequently experience a profound sense of peace, clarity, and renewed enthusiasm. Testimonials from around the globe highlight Johanna’s ability to guide individuals through deep emotional work, fostering resilience and a clearer path to fulfillment. Here is what she said.

We all got through the pandemic without major issues and doing well.
These intense times of the pandemic had a positive impact on my life in so many ways, including stepping into my dream of working as a coach and healer without any restriction regarding my location.
As the pandemic brought everything online and made it our new norm to connect with each other regardless of the physical location it made a dream come true for me, as I have always lived my life feeling that there are no strangers in the world, only friends we haven’t met yet.
My life was about moving freely in the world and now it became even easier.
To be honest it was the pandemic that, through a series of synchronistic events, locked me into a job as a carer for an elderly lady, where I somewhat lived my dream life whilst saving enough money to afford my career change to become a qualified coach later on.
It’s a funny thing but I never really bought into this whole fearmongering of the pandemic.
I was in India with my spiritual teacher when it all started and just about made it back to Europe with the last plane. (I recently posted about this experience on my FB page)
However, fear was never a thing in this entire journey.
I travelled across Europe at the height of the coronavirus two years in a row and never got sick.
One of my biggest lessons from this was the experience of how benevolently and powerfully this power that lives within us, in our heart and essence, that guides us through our intuition and gut feeling is looking after us.
Once we get out of our own way and start trusting our inner guidance literally magic can happen.
Spirituality and searching for the deeper meaning in our human existence has been in my focus since my late teens.
I started with the Sylva method at the age of 17, then followed Reiki, Theta healing and the list goes on.
Most of my life I was living abroad, changing countries and jobs every three years or so, which wasn’t an intentional pattern, I was just following my inner guidance.
Most of my work life I was in the field of education, either teaching English as a foreign language or working in a ‘Waldorf Steiner’ kindergarten whilst training to be a ‘Waldorf Steiner’ teacher.
However, in 2016 I met my spiritual teacher who changed my life even more profoundly and since then I have devoted myself to an even more focused spiritual path.
I started my coaching business when after so many years of wandering in the world I moved back to my home country and felt inspired to lean into my life experience and start sharing all the gems I have collected along the way.
Looking back at my life it is clear that this is what I’ve been preparing for all my life, even though I only got formally qualified as a coach with Mindvalley at the end of last year.
My self development of course continues just as intensely as it did over the qualification course.
Growing up in a dictatorship in Romania and moving to Hungary when I was 8 had probably the most profound effect on my life as it taught me how to be resourceful and resilient, how to reinvent myself, how to adapt and yet make the most of the circumstances.
Since then I have reinvented myself in so many ways, as every time I moved to a different country a whole mindset shift had to happen, which was never easy but always contributed to my growth.
As a holistic coach I find it super important to look at any situations and challenges at hand from all angles, including mindset, habits, emotions and spirit.
Given my background in spiritual healing and my ongoing self development, which includes learning about how we can heal our nervous system, rewire our brain, heal our inner child, resolve transgenerational trauma…
I feel my innovation is not one static thing but continuously and fastly evolving.
Every tool and technique I use with my clients I have tested on myself and used it to grow and evolve.
I vouch for continuous growth and evolution with my entire life.
It’s trauma informed yet spiritual.
Elements of Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry and spiritual and energy healing techniques go hand in hand with the Mindvalley approach.
It’s holistic, all encompassing and tailor made to whoever is sitting in front of me.
The most frequent feedback I get is peace of mind, relief and enthusiasm.
My clients tend to walk away with clarity regarding the challenges they brought into our session, a burst of energy to start changing things around and often a lightness, for they get to unburden in our session.
A few testimonials:
“Since beginning our journey together, I have noticed I have much less anxiety now as we have been doing immense deep early childhood trauma work. She is also helping me to rewire my negative mindset and to get clear on what I really want at a soul level so I can move out from feeling stuck and shaping my future to feel fulfilled, financially independent and in flow with life.Absolutely highly recommend! Thank you so much Jo!” ~ Laura, Australia
“My personal growth necessitated a crucial change. However, confronting past traumas and removing strong identifications proved to be an arduous obstacle, too painful to endure alone. With the guidance of Jo Kovrig Holistic Life Coaching I unearthed an unchanging, undivided formless Heart.” ~ Aneurin, Scotland
“I would love to recommend the coaching / healing sessions with Johanna. I love her presence, where she directs her focus to channel the gifts of the Universe. She has a pure heart and her intention is to convey the energies of love and light. Thank you for your sessions, and I can tell you that I notice a positive change as a result. Blessings” ~ Krisztina, Hungary
“Johanna is such a gentle soul and wonderful presence Working with her was an eye-opening and liberating experience Totally recommend!” ~ Alexa, Romania
I’m constantly learning and growing my toolkit and choose according to the needs of the human being sitting in front of me.
There’s no one size fits all.
For example spiritual and energy healing might benefit some but others might get more out of journaling prompts.
I am a great fan of Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry, which plays a huge role in my own inner work, but then so does Inner Child Healing, shifting subconscious limiting beliefs with Theta healing, breathing techniques to help regulate the nervous system, emotional release techniques of David Hawkins and the Sedona Method by Lester Levenson, Ho’oponopono and other forgiveness techniques.
And the list goes on.
Hey Beautiful People, STOP!
Stop criticising and beating yourself up!
Stop judging and comparing yourself to others!
Stop chasing things that you never really wanted but was told they will make you happy!
Stop trying to prove your worth and justify your existence!
And START:
Turning to yourselves with love and compassion.
Listen to your body, listen to your heart and intuition.
Accept yourself as valuable without having to prove anything to anyone.
You’re inherently valuable, beautiful and loveable.
You matter because you exist.
That’s it!
Start your revolution from within!
Everything we seek from the outside world springs from within.
This is the most important rule of manifestation and it includes not only material things but love, joy, purpose, security, compassion, validation too.
As the Talmud says, ‘You don’t see the world as it is, you see the world as you are.’
So any lasting change in our lives must start by looking within and openly and compassionately inquiring into the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and about the world we live in.
For it is our mind that creates the world and that’s where we can change it too.
I truly believe that if every single human being took responsibility for their own healing and hence claimed their inherent power we could create a world that’s kind, safe, loving and compassionate.
Any violence and any aggression springs out of suppressed pain.
The more we heal that pain within ourselves the more we heal it in the collective subconscious also.
And the result?
Our natural, inherent joy, peace, love and compassion become our everyday state we live in.
P.S. I am just about to start a closed FB group for all those who would like to be supported and support each other on this journey of Heartful Living.
The aim of this group is to provide a sacred space for all those seeking to cultivate a life filled with love, compassion, and authenticity.
It’s only just beginning so let’s create it together: https://www.facebook.com/groups/heartfullivingnow
