Biji Tushar is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with her. She impressed us with her ambition, dedication, and positivity.
Her inspiring journey began in the classroom, where her passion for teaching Science and Maths sparked a deeper curiosity about nurturing life skills in her students. This quest led her to pursue advanced studies in counselling, psychotherapy, and multiple intelligences, an academic foundation that transformed her into a life coach focused on unlocking human potential. What started as a single workshop with ten students blossomed into a powerful coaching movement, touching millions of lives and empowering individuals to embrace confidence and purpose.
Her path was not without challenges. From overcoming self doubt and navigating the complexities of balancing family and ambition, to building a coaching empire from scratch, Biji’s resilience and faith became her driving force. That’s what made her the beautiful and successful woman she is today.
Her mission is to help 1 billion+ individuals be the best version of themselves. Today, as the founder of “Management Me School of Confidence,” she continues to blend her intuitive wisdom and scientific methodologies to create leaders, transform lives, and chase her ambitious dream of inspiring over one billion people worldwide. Here is what she said…
Meet Life Coach Biji Tushar:
Name: Biji Tushar
Pillar: The Spirit, The Mind
Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to become the best version of themselves, reach their goals, and enjoy their success without feeling guilty.
How they can help: By using various tools and techniques like NLP, CBT, REBT, Logo therapy, and changing belief systems just to name a few.
First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?
We are doing fantastic, continuing our work in various fields.
I’m coaching leaders as my dream is to inspire 1 Billion+ people, and that’s possible through coaching leaders at various levels in organisations.
We at “Management Me” (that’s my company) are happy to serve BtoB as well as BtoC helping them reach their goals through Training, Coaching and Mentoring.
How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?
The corona virus made its presence felt in the clients as they wanted the online sessions and I started getting more clients internationally.
The clients faced a lot of issues in regards to mental health, feelings of insecurity and fear of losing loved ones.
Anxiety and depression were on the rise so there were a lot of takers for 1 on 1 coaching sessions.
It did affect me: I realised the calmness in me, the taking charge attitude, and the power of self healing.
During that time I had got a second degree burn, twice, and could heal myself using creative visualization.
My business boomed as we are into the business of problems and people will always have challenges.
Since we help you deal with your challenges using your own intelligence, we will always be in business.
What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?
1. The greatest wealth is your attitude and no one can take it away.
2. There is always an opportunity. Every adversity brings with it a seed of equal or greater opportunity. Finding it is an art and a craft and I am a master at it.
3. If you are innovative, adaptable, flexible, understand the needs of your clients well and believe in your product, you will always be in business.
The Origin:
Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?
I was a teacher dealing with teens teaching Science and Maths.
My quest for knowledge and the need to do more for my students in terms of teaching life skills, led me to doing Masters in English, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Education Leadership and Management, and Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence.
This helped me understand my students better and I started taking counselling cases.
I had a lot of success stories and it motivated me to take up more cases.
In 2007, one afternoon, I drew my logo on a piece of paper and told my husband that this is going to be my company without knowing what is a company.
So 3 things were very clear:
1) I would have my own company.
2) It would be Management Me.
3) My work on each client will give them insights for a lifetime.
My husband, being in the advertisement field, filled colours into the logo and made a proper logo out of it.
Colours were purple, golden yellow and white.
At that time I had no idea what these colours stood for.
Today I know purple stands for spiritual growth.
Yellow is the colour of happiness.
And white is purity.
These have been the core elements of my coaching.
So, I believe that we all have an intuitive wisdom that we can tap into which is an unexplored resource present in each individual.
Since I made a logo, I felt I need to do something under it.
Hence I launched a 2 day workshop ,”MYSELF”.
I didn’t know at that time that even if you had a great product, it needed selling and being a teacher I had not done any traditional selling. (We all know that Sales is done by everyone).
Somehow I managed to convince parents of 10 students who were average academic achievers to enroll them.
It was my first workshop and I got the Temple at Goregaon (West), a suburb in Mumbai, as the venue.
Traditional halls were expensive for me at that time.
With a laptop given to me by my father in law, I did the workshop and the transformation I saw in those 10 students was phenomenal.
I felt great and the joy of Confidence I saw in each, awakened the passion of a Coach in me.
However, complacency set in as I was comfortable with my role as a teacher and didn’t want to do sales for my workshops.
So I did not do any workshops for almost an year.
Then, I became restless as I had already tasted the nectar of coaching and couldnt resist my need to do one more.
I developed a 7 day summer camp, and sold it to 10 parents of teenagers by going from house to house in nearby places.
The summer camp was based on Multiple Intelligence by Howard Gardner.
With hindsight, I realise my product was well researched and really great, but I lacked branding and marketing expertise.
However, the summercamp was a huge success and I wanted to more.
Again complacency set in and I just got into my usual routine playing the role of a mother and teacher.
Meanwhile, one of my ex students met me and asked me a question which was a life defining moment,
“Ma’am, you are still here?”
I wondered, I am in a school that I love, doing what I love, and with the children whom I love, where else could I be?
The thought lingered on but no actions were taken.
Something within me changed.
Though I was a BSc. Physics graduate, I did my Masters in English literature and realised my love for language.
Then I enrolled into Masters in counselling and psychotherapy and my love for Psychology blossomed.
In 2009, my student Alok Verma who is now one of the greatest Food Fashion blogger and stylist, started missing my personality development classes and asked me to do it for him and his friends who wanted to learn more about life, dealing with peer pressure and emotional management.
He got together a buch of students and once again I started my workshops on MYSELF.
This time I had some sense of an entrepreneur and took a formal rented place for the same.
Mr. Manoj Ucchil, who has his own classes, was kind enough to give his space to me (which I also used for my counselling sessions).
My success stories were increasing and I became very famous as my product was changing lives and making students empowered to deal with the challenges of life.
This was the lacune which I found in the education system and somehow I had an intuitive wisdom backed up with formal knowledge and skills to bring out the best in a student.
This is the true aim of education.
Next phase started with parents of students whom I catered to referring me to corporates where they worked.
Since, I had no formal training in being a trainer, I had my own style and flair which soon became a hit at Regional training institute for CAG office for Auditors, management institutes and corporates.
Hence, I started training adults also.
The extra knowledge I gained through workshops and my interactions with people whom I trained enriched my experience and I became the Vice principal of the school.
Whatever changes I could do, I brought about in the school, however, I felt a pulling to my workshops and was dithering on staying on or pursuing my passion.
Then came another turning point.
My mom had a paralytic attack and as I entered the ICU, she told,
“So now you got the time to see me.”
These words kept ringing in my ears and maybe subconsciously I had made a decision to seek time freedom and pursue my passion for Coaching, Mentoring and Training.
I thought all your life you work hard to take care of your loved ones but when they need your time, you are busy with work.
I knew if I had to look after her, this was the time.
I didn’t want to have any regrets later.
Everyday I would leave for school as I would be leaving the gate, my ankles would ache so much that I wouldn’t be able to take the next step.
On hindsight I realise that it was universe way of telling me to quit.
I put down my papers in 2017, took care of my mother for 6 months, was present with her at the last moments of her life.
The last question she asked me was the most powerful question in life.
The question which has all the answers, the question that sets you free: WHO AM I?
I hugged her tight and with tears in my eyes, with a wisdom bestowed on me by God, these words came out of my mouth…
“You are a beautiful soul who lived a full life and discharged all your duties with a selfless compassion that only a mother can give.”
That moment, I knew she was leaving and I let her go.
The next phase.
Ten years after I had designed my logo, I registered my company, had my own office, where I started Management Me School of Confidence.
From then onwards, there was no looking back.
Today we have reached out to 5.5million people, done 400 training sessions, helped 1000 families, written 3 books and helped raise the productivity of 30 organisations.
I am blessed.
Formally as an organisation, I coined my Vision, Mission and Goals.
I wrote my dream as: “Inspiring 1 million+ Individuals to transform to their best version.”
However, my student Lovlesh Dagar who had done all my courses was interning with me and while typing my Dream he changed the M into B and Million changed into Billion.
I was surprised and told him, “How can I reach 1 Billion?”, “How many years do I have to live?”
India had a population of 1.4 billion then, that means I had to reach all India or should I go International?
It looked impossible.
He answered, “Maam, You can do anything!”
Another sentence that led me to my better version and I told him,
“1Billion+ is what it is.”
Now the smart Biji had to find a way to reach 1 Billion+…
In 2020, just as the pandemic was getting over, one of my clients (who I had coached to overcome his fear of public speaking), Mr. Chirag Purecha, Director of CMSS an IT company approached me with a strange request.
He told me 4 of my employees are on the verge of leaving the company and I want to retain them at any cost.
Do whatever you want but ensure that they stay on.
That is when I designed and curated my first Leadership Development Program: “Transform to Lead”.
Biji being Biji, poured her heart and soul with occasional help from her mind, ensured that this program became a success and these 4 super leaders are still with the company creating more leaders.
This was when Life & Leadership Coach Biji Tushar was reborn.
I realised that if I trained one leader, they could be training 1 organisation.
This way I could reach my 1Billion+
The Impossible seemed Possible.
Now there is no turning back, and I took up various coaching programs for myself, got mentored with national and international coaches, had the good fortune of co authoring “Secrets of Wealthpreneurs” with the legendary Brian Tracy.
Currently I am pursuing to be an Independent Director.
I have invested around 20 to 30 lakhs into my own education.
Management Me has reaped the fruits and moved from X to 2X and will soon move to 5X in the next 2 years.
What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?
The biggest obstacle was my own THOUGHTS.
They stood looming large asking me:
“How can u do it? How can you run a business, nobody in your family has done it? You were a teacher, how can you become a Coach? Coaches are like Tony Robbins, Vishen Lakhani, Brian Tracy, who are you… just a newbie in the field of Training and Coaching? You don’t even know ABCD of Branding Sales and Marketing? How can you be an international coach?”
These questions were my obstacles.
Handling rejection of my ideas, managing time, proving my worth, ensuring my finances are managed well, discharging my roles and responsibilities towards my children and family and at the same time allowing myself the luxury of wanting to help people achieve their goals was a challenge.
People’s thought about me and their fears never affected me, however, to be honest, I would feel guilty that I’m not attending to my own children and being the perfect wife, mother, and daughter in law.
Overcoming all these with self belief, self confidence, support and faith of my students, clients, fans and an intuitive knowledge that the universe supports your dream, helped me reach where I am today.
I have received a lot of respect and love from all.
The Coaching Style:
How do you innovate with coaching your clients?
Innovation is the key to success.
Every client is different, so we don’t believe in the “one size fits all policy.”
In short, “Do what it takes to reach where you want to” is our policy.
