Find Life Coach | Meet Michael Dunn: How to BE Yourself and Heal Energetically?

114

Michael Dunn is one of the coaches that we found this month and we did a little interview with him. He impressed us with his easy going outlook on life and passion for energy healing.

He blended ancient wisdom with modern healing practices to guide others on a journey of self discovery and transformation. Drawing from his training in horticulture, energy healing, and his personal experiences overcoming autism and depression, he developed a unique approach to helping others.

He has a unique coaching style deeply rooted in embodiment and connection to nature, with a focus on slow, long term results rather than quick fixes. What sets him apart is his dedication to personal growth, not just for his clients, but for himself as well.

He believes that true healing happens when individuals are ready to let go and embrace change on a deep, energetic level. Whether through energy healing, vision quests, or even sweat lodges, his methods encourage a deep reconnection with the self and the natural world. Here is what he said…

Meet Life Coach Michael Dunn:

Name: Michael Dunn

Pillar: The Spirit, The Heart

Who is this coach for: Anyone who wants to learn how to BE their real self and heal energetically.

How they can help: Through coaching, guidance, energy work and energy healing.

First of all, how are you and your family doing after these Pandemic times?

My family and I were not badly affected (health wise) by the coronavirus, luckily.

When the pandemic started, I was at Uluru in the center of Australia with two friends, and there weren’t many people there.

It was a great experience.

It felt like we were in some sort of magical cocoon while hell broke loose over the rest of the world.

Uluru is an incredible place.

I did suffer some long term health problems for one year after I had the coronavirus, so that was a difficult year in some ways, but I’m totally fine now.

As well as Energy Healing, I also run a garden with some of my family, which is open to the public.

The pandemic hit right when we were poised to grow as an organization.

It hit that enterprise pretty hard.

How did the coronavirus pandemic affect your clients? Did it affect you at all?

I wasn’t doing a huge amount of healing at the time, so the actual main period of the pandemic was a very relaxing time for many people in my area, a total contrast to the cities.

Life was slower, birds and the natural environment were less stressed, everyone had to slow down, and the pace of life became a little more natural.

When I had health issues for one year, that affected my ability to do regular healings and marketing.

What are the biggest lessons that you learned in this pandemic?

The lesson I learned for my own health is that I live in a vehicle, my body, which requires quite careful and specific management.

Making sure I have the right diet, exercise, rest, space, and supplements is very key for me.

This has shown me how different everyone’s systems really are.

I’m not a fan of generalized diets as a result.

People’s requirements can be quite different.

The other lesson was that we really live too fast, and we need to slow down.

That’s still a struggle for me and everyone else, I think, because the human race has created a vibrational environment where everything has to be now, and that affects everyone.

During the pandemic, there was a slowdown, and that really benefited the natural environment, which is what gives us life.

But that seems to have been forgotten now.

The Origin:

Tell us about you, your career, how you started with your coaching career?

I’m from Pembrokeshire, West Wales, and live here now.

I lived in Edinburgh for 10 years.

Pembrokeshire is an incredibly beautiful place to live, in the UK, so there are the benefits of living in a first world country, but Pembrokeshire is a lot more relaxed than most places.

I’m a trained horticulturist, so I spend a fair bit of time with plants.

I trained in energy healing after a friend gave me an incredible book.

He’d been giving me Reiki, and I subsequently gave his daughter history tuition.

After one of these sessions, he went upstairs to get a book, couldn’t find it, and brought down Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan.

There was a strange energetic transfer when he handed it over.

I read the book and realized I’d wanted to learn this information my whole life but without knowing it.

Only when I opened the book did I realize this was what I wanted to know.

I then learned that someone who lived 20 minutes from me was trained and a long term practitioner in this healing modality and was about to start teaching for the first time, so it was very serendipitous.

After practicing for around five years, I decided to teach an introductory course.

I’ve just finished that, and I’m in the process of putting it out there right now.

I also run a sweat lodge for my local community, and I do a lot of vision quests, fasting in the natural environment, mostly on my own but sometimes with other traditions.

I plan to hold group vision quests in the future to help people get out there and develop their connection to nature and spirit.

What was your biggest obstacle that you had to overcome in your life that made you who you are today?

I’m autistic, and finding this out in later life has brought things into much greater clarity.

I often struggled when I was younger, and autism certainly contributed to that.

Going through and recovering from very serious depression in my mid twenties was the biggest turning point for me.

Dealing with the way autism shapes my brain and my life is an ongoing challenge, but one which does foster strength and determination.

The Coaching Style:

How do you innovate with coaching your clients?

It’s really about an embodied approach, really doing your own work and feeling it in your body.

A healing is generally as successful as the person being healed wants it to be.

If they’re really ready to let something go, that’s the energy which generates great results.

This doesn’t mean that lighter work isn’t also beneficial, it’s just to point out that the power lies with the student or the person on the table.

The healer or teacher is just a channel.

For the students, it’s about giving themselves the time and space to move through their own energy fields and deal with some of the things they might find there.

It’s about experiencing those higher realms and pulling that energy down into their everyday selves to lift their everyday lives and those of the people around them.

What’s unique about your coaching approach?

It’s perhaps a little more relaxed than what I think the 21st century commercial world wants it to be!

It’s unlikely I’ll be doing one of those social media videos where the coach is talking with the camera zoomed right into their face.

I focus on slow and long term results and building yourself to create deeper and longer lasting change.

That’s really what I’m into helping people do, and I think this will help me find more students and clients who are into this approach.

What benefits do your clients get after working with you?

The biggest thing with the students will hopefully be much greater knowledge of who they are and how they work in the world, and how consciousness itself creates the world we live in.

With the healing clients, it’s about recharging, restructuring, and cleaning the energy field.

If the client wants to go into a deep body centered process, this is when great work can take place, removing the energetic effects of trauma from this life and other lives, which has the potential to be transformational.

Do you use any specific tools to be efficient with your clients?

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by the question, but written feedback is important for me, really making sure the client is well held after a treatment.

The Impact:

If you had a super megaphone that, when you speak into, the whole world will hear your message, what would you say?

Be who you are, don’t be afraid to be yourself, everything’s going to turn out well!

What is the greatest lesson you have learned in your life?

Really, it’s just to be yourself.

That is the absolute key to life, I think, just be who you are.

So many of the thought patterns we deal with, which lead us toward actions that do not benefit us or others, seem to come from wanting to please or live up to other people’s ideas of who we should be.

But if we’re comfortable in ourselves, then nothing can really hurt us.

This doesn’t mean everything is happy 24 hours, 7 days per week…

There’s being yourself in dark times, being yourself in crisis.

It’s still being yourself.

Your final thoughts?

I’m really looking forward to teaching Energy Healing.

It’s a system that encompasses almost everything that pertains to our lives, including where our core beliefs are held and how they affect our actions, our personal place in the universe, and how we run and shape our lives from the highest level right down to the physical reality we experience day to day.

The world is in such a strange place at the moment, and I think it’s going to continue to become stranger, so I’m really looking forward to getting this information out there and lifting people towards a knowledge of their life’s purpose.
