How to Be Mentally Tough Like Trump

On 13th of July 2024 there has been an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

He was shot on the upper corner of his ear but the bullet didn’t do any serious damage.

What was fascinating, at least for me, was how Trump reacted seconds after the event.

He got up, with a blood on his face, and put his fist in the air in an act of resistance.

This photo will definitely go in history as one of the most significant moments in USA (and the world’s) history.

But how can one develop such strong mindset that in midst of fear and chaos one stands and faces fear by looking at it in the eyes with a fist in the air?

No matter if you are a democrat or a republican, we can all learn from Trump’s recent behavior.

The world definitely needs more people with mental resilience.

How to Be Mentally Tough:

1. Have a Strong Belief In Your Purpose

Trump’s unwavering belief in his vision and purpose has been a driving force behind his actions.

To develop similar mental strength:

  1. Clearly define your goals and the reasons behind them.
  2. Regularly reinforce your commitment to your purpose.
  3. Use your purpose as a compass for decision making.

2. Speak Out Your Truth

It’s all about authenticity.

Trump is known for his direct and often unfiltered communication style.

While tact is important, there’s strength in expressing your views openly.

There is power in authenticity.

Don’t shy away from expressing unpopular views if you believe in them.

When you do this, there will be people trying to test your arguments and that’s your arena where you build your mental resilience.

Staying true to your self despite social pressure is how you build mental strength.

3. Face The Bully

Throughout his career, Trump has shown a willingness to confront opponents head on.

Developing the courage to face adversity is crucial for mental strength.

Identify the “bullies” in your life, these could be people, situations, or personal fears.

Face them.

Develop strategies to address conflicts directly rather than avoiding them.

Stand your ground when you believe you’re right, even against powerful opposition.

View confrontations as opportunities for growth rather than threats.

4. Do Hard Things

Trump’s career has been marked by taking on ambitious projects and diving into unfamiliar territories.

Embracing difficulty is key to building mental toughness.

Regularly push yourself out of your comfort zone.

Break down daunting challenges into manageable steps.

Take on tasks that others might shy away from.

Exercise daily and push your limits.

When you put yourself in a situation that demands you to go over your mental limitations, you will be forced to tackle with your mind.

It will try to convince you to stop, to not face your fear, to stay in your comfort, to remain the same…

Learning how to conquer this voice is HOW you develop mental resilience and mental strength.

Consistently doing hard things builds confidence in your abilities and expands your capabilities.

As you work on these aspects, you’ll likely find yourself better equipped to handle life’s challenges and pursue your ambitions with unwavering determination.

Mental strength allows you to say “no” to things that are hard to say no to, it allows you to overcome harmful addictions, and point your fist in the air in act of resistance when chaos tries to take you down.
